I was born and raised in Zanesville. My schooling began and ended in Maysville Local School District. I received my high school diploma in 1997. I went onto college, majoring in Psychology and Sociology at Muskingum University. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in 2001. I joined the Ohio Army National Guard in July 2001, and continued my service until February 2002, when I was medically discharged due to injuries sustained in Basic Combat Training. I enrolled once again at Muskingum University, this time receiving my Master’s of Teaching degree in December 2004, which allowed me to begin my current teaching position here at West Muskingum Middle School in 2005. I have been doing what I love ever since - teaching the children in our community! I married my husband, Jim, in 2004. We have two beautiful children, Alyse and Sophia, who are proud Tornadoes at the elementary school. We reside in Hopewell with our two girls, two dogs, Lucy and Finley, three cats, Jaxx, Mac, and Cheddar, and one bunny, Tiggy.
