The West Muskingum Academic Fund was created in 1982 by a group of parents, educators, friends and other community members.
The Academic Fund was established and continues to operate as a separate, nonprofit foundation with its principal monies forever remaining on deposit. The interest earned from that principal is spent each year to partially or fully fund enriching academic opportunities for the students of the West Muskingum School District.
Since 1982, the West Muskingum Academic Fund has helped thousands of students attend academic competitions such as Future Business Leaders of America and Future Farmers of America; participate in enrichment activities including Zanesville/Putnam Historical Community Tour, Eighth Grade Washington, D.C. Trip, and the Ohio Statehouse; and host traveling presentations and productions like The GOOD Program and and Mystery Science.
To date, the Academic Fund has provided over $374,500 in financial support and has touched the educational lives of over 134,146 West Muskingum students. We appreciate the wonderful support from our alumni and our community of parents, teachers, and friends of West Muskingum Schools.
